Chrysalis Implant Network · last updated October 25, 2026
The Chrysalis Implant Network is a secure system that lets your dentist and Chrysalis Dental Centres share the information needed to plan, place and restore your dental implant. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it and how we protect it.
Who is responsible
Chrysalis Dental Centres and your referring dentist are each responsible for your health information under Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). The system is run for them as their agent and may only use your information to provide this service.
What we collect
- Your name, date of birth and contact details.
- The tooth or teeth being treated, x-rays, CBCT scans and photos.
- Consultation notes, treatment plans, surgical and integration reports, lab and restoration details.
- Messages between your dentist's office and Chrysalis about your care.
- Appointment dates.
For dentists and staff who use the app, we also keep your name, work email, the devices you sign in from, and a record of what you open and change.
Why we use it
Only to provide implant treatment: referral, consultation, planning, surgery, follow-up, lab work, placing the crown, and keeping a record for future care. We do not sell information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone outside the care team without consent or legal authority. The app has no advertising and no third-party tracking.
Who can see it
- Chrysalis staff involved in the patient's care (booking, treatment coordination, surgeons, lab).
- The referring dentist and the office staff they authorize.
- Nobody else, unless the law requires or permits it.
Where it is stored
On servers in Canada (Montreal). Information does not leave Canada.
How we protect it
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, including messages and files.
- Two-step sign-in, with each new device approved by a one-time code.
- A log of every time a record is opened or changed.
- Encrypted daily backups, kept in Canada.
- Notifications never show patient names or clinical details.
- The app does not store patient information on your phone or computer.
How long we keep it
Records are kept as dental record-keeping rules require, generally 10 years after the last entry (or until 10 years after a patient turns 18, if later), then securely destroyed.
Your rights
You can ask to see your record, ask for a correction, ask who has viewed it, or withdraw consent for future sharing. Contact our privacy officer. You may also complain to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario at ipc.on.ca.
Deleting an account
Dentists and staff can ask the privacy officer to close their account at any time. Health records already shared stay with the custodian as the law requires.
